Tucked behind the Willow Market in Cadillac Mi., the Greenhouse is the new happening place in town. Providing residents of Northern Michigan with a fresh take on the bar scene, it is indeed inside a Greenhouse!
Jason and Tracy Towers are two of the most generous community driven people that I have met since I made the move to this small town. Along with their 5 children, they have made a name for themselves with their delicious barbecue, wonderful selection of items inside the Willow market and now an event and entertainment space inside of the Greenhouse. And you know what? They trusted me with the decor and I had the best time coming up with something unique for the space.
Since it was still too cold at the time to decorate with live plants, I repurposed faux plants and combined the pieces with Vintage lamps to create a back drop for musicians. The added bonus of not having to water is not having to worry about expensive equipment getting ruined.
Mr. Tom Selleck makes an appearance as well. Why? Because in true Mildred and Mary fashion, the 8×10’s are a nod to the owner Jason’s grandmother who had a fondness for the mustached man.
For the other side of the event space, I combined the same idea but with paintings and pictures instead. I loved the way it made the pictures look 3 dimensional and a bit fun.
Bringing in live plants into both the opposite crates as well as the centerpieces combining the fun faux and the fresh for a unique mix.
Starting June 7, this will become the perfect back drop for a floral program I’ve developed for repurposing flowers for After 26 Depot an amazing non profit for the disabled in the community.
So here’s to dead batteries, thrift stores and of course Mr. Tom Selleck
